This pretty and practical den is surrounded by woodland, wildlife and starry skies. Perfect for escaping from the hullabaloo. So, if you’re seeking a tech-free, stress-free break, want to enjoy local walks and fascinating sites, or just time to sit, switch off and read, then this place is just the ticket.
The woodland is surrounded by wonderful countryside. There are many local footpaths for wandering, passing through delightful villages and taking in the cracking local pub. From vineyards to cider makers, bacon and sausages to eggs, honey and cheese, we’re keen as mustard to introduce you to the delights on offer in the area and can provide you with a basket of goodies for your stay. We also have our very own kitchen garden which can supply guests with delicious, home-grown produce.
We think this area is Devon’s best kept secret – with castles, gorges, secret swimming spots and some of the best beaches in the country within easy reach. Nearby Roadford Lake, three miles away, offers a smorgasbord of activities such as bird watching, archery, canoeing, wind-surfing and a circular cycle route with tea rooms.
Devon Dens is a natural environment, with a beautiful stream, pond, and features which some parents may not be comfortable with – such as no railings on the mezzanine bed – and no-go areas, such as the polytunnel.
We don’t want to create a sterile, generic space – we want it to be fun with a sense of freedom. We have lots of kids come to stay, and get great feedback. However, it’s not for everyone and if you do bring small ones, it’s at your own risk and we advise parents to have eyes on the whole time.
We also welcome one, well-behaved pooch along with responsible dog owners who pick up their poo!
Forget glamping…. This is grown up camping for the clever crowd.
